The seventh edition of annual Inter-Bank Football Tournament, which got underway over the weekend, is producing some interesting and exciting results among the participating banks.
Access Bank enjoyed a resounding 3-nil victory over Prime Bank in Saturday's exciting match, at Bakau Mini-Stadium to collect their first victory in the championship.
A sensational second half goal from Alieu Gassama and a brace from attack-partner Habibou Sanyang, who took full advantage of two sloppy defensive errors to nod home from a close-range shot in the second period were enough to give their side an advantage to go into the second encounter with something to be optimistic about.
There was another entertaining inter bank football match when Central Bank humiliated Eco Bank with an impressive 4-nil score line on Saturday, at the Serrekunda West Mini-Stadium.
Sheikh Cham and Alhaji Janneh each put their names on the score sheet to lead Central Bank to an emphatic 2-nil score line under the watchful eyes of Governor Bamba Saho, who took the kick-off as part of the opening ceremony of yet another Inter-Bank Football Tournament, whose main objective is to bring the banks together in order to strengthen relations among them.
