The Gambia Football Association (GFA) Normalisation Committee has set Saturday 8 December 2012 as the date for the adoptive congress of the Draft GFA Constitution at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel in Bakau, according to a media release from Bakary B. Baldeh, Media Officer of the GFA.
The media release sent to Pointsports Desk last Friday stated that, “As an integral part of its mandate to normalise the state of Gambian football, the Normalisation Committee of the Gambia Football Association embarked on the task of aligning the GFA Constitution with the FIFA Statutes, which is a requirement for all National Football Federations affiliated to FIFA.”
“After the Committee completed its first draft, it conducted a series of consultative meetings with all stakeholders on the draft constitution, which eventually led to a final draft that incorporates the concerns and expectations of both FIFA and the national stakeholders,” added the media release.
“As a final step, the Normalisation Committee of the Gambia Football Association is pleased to announce that the Congress for the adoption of the Draft GFA Constitution is scheduled for Saturday 8th December 2012 at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel in Bakau at 10:00am prompt,” the release stated, adding that delegates to the congress will be drawn from first, second and third division clubs across the country.
“The Normalisation Committee takes this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for the support and look forward to a successful Congress,” it concluded.
