Fifty clubs have lined up for this year’s Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) Nawetaan qualifying round.
The clubs are: Max United, Shop Bi FC, Mam’s FC, Green Land FC, New York FC, Dem FC, Blue Birds FC, T. Central FC, Herr Bi FC, Rising Stars FC, Oeath Rock FC, Latrikunda United, Promise Land FC, Top Ranks FC, Hamburg FC, Beck Yard FC, Elemats FC, Daru Salam FC, B. K. Central FC, L. M. FC, Aziz United, Brand Ford FC, Eagle Stars FC, Campe Bi FC, African Future FC, Churchill’s Town FC, Full Time FC, Breakers Osnabruck FC, Rocka FC, Piccadilly United, Karl FC, Istau Bul FC, T. C. FC, Amsterdam FC, T. Bantaba FC, Banda Gi FC, South Africa FC, Williem FC, Soninke FC, Dara Gi FC, V. V. Raptim FC, Liverpool FC, Gickiba FC, Castle Bi FC, Gully Squad FC, Jah Guide FC, Toubabo FC, Dumos FC, Net Bii FC, and Nema FC.
In the opening game of the campaign played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on 20June 2011, Campe Bi FC beat Max United by 4 goals to three, on post-match penalty shootout after a goalless draw.
The same day in the 5pm encounter, African Future FC lost to Shop Bi FC by the same score-line in a post-match penalty kicks following a goalless draw.
Churchill’s Town FC on 21 June 2011 defeated Mam’s FC 2-0 in the 3pm kick-off played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium, while Full Time FC in the 5pm encounter of the same day beat Green Land FC 5-4 on penalty shootout after another goalless draw during the regulation time.
On 22 June 2011, New York FC lost to Breakers Osnabruck 2-0 in the 3pm encounter, while Dem FC hammered Rocka FC 4-0 in the 5pm encounter played at the Serrekunda East Mini -stadium.
Ebrima Ceesay opened the scoring for Dem FC in the 23rd minute while Sam Jarju scored a brace in the 41st and 64th minutes before Ansumana Jarju rounded up a 4-0 victory for Dem FC.
