Brikama booked their place in the final after defeating Brufut 2-0 in their semifinal encounter, while Sanyang on the other hand progressed into the final after eliminating Gunjur 2-1.
Speaking during an interview with Choice FM Radio, Bakary Manneh, head of the media and publicity committee of WCR Zonal Committee, said preparations for the final are in high gear.
“Preparations at all levels are in high gear between the two giants of West Coast Region (Brikama and Sanyang),” he said, adding that the commencement of the GFF league season and the completion of the GFF Super Nawetan tournament will not reduce the hype and euphoria gained by the West Coast zonal tournament.
“We (the committee) engaged the GFF regarding the day and venue set aside for the final. The final will not also give teams or players problems despite the start of the league season,” he said.
Big Sam, as he is fondly called, expressed hope that this year’s West Coast zonal final is anticipated to be one of the best and most-entertaining football finals.
Despite having different prizes for the winners, Big Sam said their Committee is yet to confirm the prize money for the winners, adding that the ticketing for the final is pegged at D50 and D25.
