TMT snatch 1st triumph in Women’s League Division One

TMT Female Football Club on Friday snatched their first victory in the 2023-2024 The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s League Division One following their 1-0 win over City Girls in their week-four outing played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

Awa K. Darboe’s 18th minute strike from the penalty spot earned TMT FC their first win in the league campaign.

The win earns TMT FC fifth-place on the table with 4 points after winning one match, drawing one and losing two.

Immigration defeated Koita FC 1-0 at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul on the same day.

Betty Mbenga scored for Immigration during the match.

The win earns Immigration second-place from bottom on the table with 3 points.

Reigning League champions, Red Scorpions hammered Future Bi 5-0 at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Saturday to maintain their winning form in the league.

Maimuna Dukureh scored a brace for Red Scorpions in the 35th and74th minute of the match before Kaddijatou Bayo, Kaddy Jatta and Fatou Bojang all registered their names on the score sheet in the 45th, 61th and 88th minute respectively.

The Gambia Police Force defeated Brikama United 2-1 at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama on the same day.

Jabou Jobarteh scored a brace for The Gambia Police Forces in the 45th and 51st minute of the match respectively.

Kaddijatou Jabang scored the consolation goal for Brikama United during the match.

The Gambia Armed Forces woes continued in the league after losing to Berewuleng 3-2 in a thrilling encounter played at the Bakau Mini Stadium Sunday.

Sirreh Jarju and Ellen Gomez were on target for Berewuleng during the first half.

Hawa Sambou and Fatou Daffeh levelled matters for The Gambia Armed Forces during the second half.

Haddy Joof’s own goal in the second half was all but enough to earn Berewuleng the vital three points.
