
Jarju was speaking during the Sports Journalist of The Gambia (SJAG) Iftar session with the head coach of The Gambia senior national team Jonathan Mckinstry at a local hotel in Fajara on Monday.
Jarju urged the gathering to observe one minute silent for their fallen colleague Modou Lamin Sanyang, who passed away last Friday.
“We would continue to pray for his soul to rest in peace,” SJAG President Jarju said.
Jarju thanked the Scorpions coach Jonathan Mckinstry for accepting their invitation through GFF Director of Communications Babucarr Camara.
He recalled that when they had the idea to have question and answer session with Mckinstry, the GFF Communications Director Babucarr Camara told them it is a very good idea, adding that he would engage the authorities about it.
Jarju stated that Babucarr Camara reverted to him shortly clearly shows his intension and commitment to create relationship between SJAG and GFF, particularly the national team.
He stated that the event was very important because it would avail the members to asked question and interact with coach Mckinstry.
He revealed SJAG believes in dialogue and interaction which is coach Mckinstry’s slogan.
“Along the way as we set to hold authorities accountable for their actions.”
He noted that doesn’t mean that the relationship between SJAG and the GFF would not be cordial, adding that sports journalists want to part of The Gambia football success.
“Along the way we expect genuine opinions and strong criticisms that would improve the success of the national team,” Jarju empahisised.
Jarju thanked Babucarr Camara for opening the doors for SJAG to interact with Coach Jonathan Mckinstry.
