“The mood and confidence from the team is a clear indication that we are going to win this tournament. Despite not participating in the tournament to compete, the emphatic result in the semifinal shows that the SJAG has a team to win the tournament,” said coach Pa Barrow in an interview.
According to him, the tournament is very important as it would help to bring the movers and shakers of the beautiful sport of football together, adding that such a tournament cannot be completed without the inclusion of the Sports Journalists.
“We are very much ready to face either side - (the organisers, Football Coaches Association or Medics who were playing in the second semifinal game at the time of writing to press).”
Meanwhile, the SJAG has scored five goals in two of their fixtures leading to the final. They eliminated the Referees Association on penalties after a 2-2 draw in their opening game before thrashing the National Scorpions Fans’ Club 3-0.
The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.
