Shortlisted candidates for Scorpions coach to be interviewed today

The Gambia is edging closer to appointing a new national team coach with interviews for shortlisted candidates to begin today, Wednesday, 24th April 2024.

Ninety-one applicants want The Gambia senior national team job but the list has been trimmed down to ten (10), all expect one of them, non-Africans.

Interview panelists would be led by The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) technical and development committee and will include representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as other individuals.

According to news reaching The Point Sports Desk, the only non African applicant who made to the shortlist is a Gambian.

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has stated that a new coach will be appointed for the Scorpions before their 2026 World Cup qualifier matches against Seychelles and Gabon in June 2024.
