Kibiwott won 42-kilometre male race, while Rotich won 42-kilometre female race.
Geoffreg Birgen secured second place in the 42-kilometre male race.
Athletes from different African countries participated in the Banjul- Africell marathon run.
The Banjul Africell marathon run offered different categories such as 42-kilometre, 21-kilometre, 10-kilometre, 5-kilometre and 4-kilometre for both male and female categories.
The marathon attracted athletes from Senegal, Cameroon, Kenya, Guinea Bissau, The Gambia and others.
The Banjul Africell international marathon run attracted spectators from different parts of the country to cheer their athletes.
The 42-kilometre long distance run started from the Africell Building along Kairaba Avenue through Air Port Junction to Sukuta Traffic Westfield via Bakoteh and Serrekunda before returning to Africell Building.
The winners for both male and female 42-kilometre race of Banjul- Africell international marathon run received $5,000 while runner-up pocketed $3,000.
The third-place holder received $200,000.
In his reaction to his victory, Dennis Kibiwott, expressed delight for winning the marathon run.
Kibiwott stated that the race was tough but he was able to secure first position.
“The Banjul-Banjul International Marathon organisers invited me to participate in their marathon run.
‘‘Now, I have won and will return to Nairobi with a victory.
“I have participated in the 2022 Banjul-Africell International marathon run. This year’s race was tough because the temperature was high,” Kibiwott said.
He commended organizers of the Banjul-Africell international marathon run for inviting him to participate in their competition.
