Trust Bank clinch inter-bank tourney trophy

Trust Bank Limited have clinched the 2023-2024 Late Governor Famara Jatta Memorial inter-bank football tournament trophy after thrashing Vista Bank 3-0 in a final played at King George 5 Mini Stadium in Banjul over the weekend.
Alpha Yaya Jallow netted a brace for Trust Bank in the 53rd and 62th minute of the match respectively before Musa Sabally scored the third goals in the 60th minute.

Trust Bank won the inter-bank football tournament in 2014 after defeating Access Bank on penalties after regulation time failed to produce a winner.

The annual inter- bank football tournament started in 2007 aimed at unifying banks in The Gambia.
GTBank is the most decorated bank in the annual inter-bank football tournament with three trophies under their belt.
Vista Bank former, FI Bank lifted inter-bank trophy in 2008.

This is Vista's first final since changing their name to Vista Bank.
The final was graced by several high profound dignitaries, including the banking sector.

As champions, Trust Bank received a giant trophy and cash prize of D75, 000 while Vista Bank received D50, 000 as runners-up.
Speaking to The Point Sports after the final whistle, head coach of Trust Bank, Lamin Ceesay, expressed delight for winning the inter-bank trophy after 14 years.

‘‘We have been training very hard for the final to lift the trophy and put on our manager’s desk,’’ Coach Ceesay said.

Coach Ceesay thanked the management, staff and fans for their unwavering support to the team during the course of the tournament.

Head of Vista Bank, Momodou Samateh, stated that his side deserved to win the match, adding that they were brilliant during the match.
