The Gambia senior national team yesterday, Wednesday 6th September 2023 started intensive training ahead of their sixth and final 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier clash at home to Congo Brazzaville on Sunday 10th September 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco at 7pm.

The Scorpions will use the upcoming days to prepare themselves fit enough for their crucial clash against the Congolese.

The Gambia need just a draw against Congo Brazzaville to secure qualification to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Ivory Coast but a defeat against the Congolese will see the Scorpions out and Congo Brazzaville qualify for the continent’s bi-annual biggest football showpiece.

Coach Tom Saintfiet will be hoping to assemble a formidable team in order to beat Congo Brazzaville to snatch qualification to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Gambia sit second-place in Group G of the continent’s biennial biggest football fiesta qualifiers with 9 points after five group outings.

Congo Brazzaville occupy third-place in Group G of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations with 6 points in five group matches.
