Red scorpion rejuvenate lead in GFF Women’s League One

 Red Scorpions have extended their lead in on-going Gambia Football Federation (GFF) women’s League Division One, while The Gambia Police Force suffered second defeat of the season.

The Jeshwang based-club recorded their seventh win of the season after hammering Future Bi 4-0 in their week-seven fixture played at the Live Your Dream Sports Academy in Basorion Friday.

Kumba Kuyateh scored a brace for Red Scorpion in the match in the 4th and 32nd minute of the match respectively before Kaddy Jatta and Maimuna Dukureh netted the third and fourth goal in the 75th and 80th minutes respectively.

The Gambia Police Force suffered their second defeat in the league campaign after losing to Berewuleng 4-3.

Catherine Jatta scored for The Gambia Police Force in the 12th and 40th minutes of the match respectively before Bintou Ceesay netted the third goal for the police outfit in the 33rd minutes.

Nyima Sanneh alias (Small) netted a brace for Berewuleng in the 70th and 86th minutes of the match respectively.

Ellen Gomez and Kumba Kassama were also on the score sheet for Berewuleng in the 38th and 79th minutes.

The win moves Berewuleng to 2nd position on the league table with 18 points, while Gambia Police Force occupy 3rd position on the league table with 15 points.

The Gambia Armed Forces were held to a barren goalless draw by City Girls at the LiveYour Dream Sports Academy in Basori on Friday at 3pm encounter.

The draw moves City Girls to eighth on the table with 5 points, levelling with Future Bi while GAF siton the relegation zone with 4 points.

Jeshwang United were held to a goalless draw by Abuko United at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field on Friday.

Raptim were held to a 1-all draw by Koita on Sunday.

Captain Veronica Sambou opened the scores for Koita FC in 58th minute of the match before Kaddy Camara restored parity for Raptim in the 60th minutes.
