Real de Banjul donates jerseys, bals to GNPC

Real de Banjul football club last Wednesday donated set of jerseys and five footballs to The Gambia National Paralympics Committee (GNPC).

The jerseys and balls are meant for the country's amputee football national team.

The donated items were received by the vice- president of The Gambia National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Sainey Colley.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, Willy Abraham, President of Real de Banjul Football Club, described the gesture as their duty as Gambians to support The Gambia National Paralympics Committee (GNPC).

He stated that the generosity is meant to encourage the country's amputee national team to continue training hard.

Mr. Abraham congratulated The Gambia National Paralympics Committee (GNPC) and their athletes for their recent success.

Bakary Jammeh, first vice president of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), said the gesture will go towards the development of football in the country.

Mr. Jammeh said as a football federation, they are glad physically challenged people have taken up football.

“Football is for everybody regardless of creed, sex or physical wellbeing and football can change the live of anybody,'' Mr. Jammeh said.

Jammeh hailed Para Powerlifting head coach Hagie Drammeh for his efforts towards youth and sports development in the country over the years.
