In a statement, the federation said the decision was taken in response to events that followed the referee’s award of a penalty, which it described as correct and supported by expert consensus.
The federation said the Senegal team’s decision to leave the field disrupted the normal course of the match and affected players’ performance.
The Moroccan federation said it would rely on the legal and disciplinary procedures provided for under CAF and FIFA regulations to seek a ruling on the incident.
Separately, the federation thanked Moroccan supporters for their large turnout and conduct throughout the tournament, praising what it described as disciplined and exemplary support during both Morocco’s matches and other fixtures at the competition.
The statement also expressed appreciation to organisers, security services and all parties involved in delivering the tournament, citing their contribution to the successful organisation of the continental event.
CAF has said it is reviewing footage from the final and will refer incidents to its disciplinary bodies. No formal rulings have yet been announced.
