Latrikunda Utd beat Jam City to revive hope of surviving in 2nd Division

Latrikunda United on Tuesday defeated Jam City 1-0 in their week-33 match played at the Bakau Mini Stadium to revive their hope of staying in The Gambia Football Federation (GFF)  Division Two League for another season.

Ebrima Jatta’s 73rd minute strike was all but enough to earn Latrikunda United the vital three points.

Jatta’s lone goal against Jam City was his first-ever league goal for Latrikunda United in the current Second Division League season.

Latrikunda United now recorded their seventh win of the league season, while Jam City suffered their 16th defeat of the league campaign.

The win saved Latrikunda United from relegation to the Third Division League.

Latrikunda United overall collected 8 triumphs, 9 draws and 16 defeats in 33 league matches.

Jam City grabbed seven wins, 11 draws and 15 defeats after 33 league games.

The victory earns Latrikunda United 14th position on the league table with 33 points.

Jam City now occupy 15th position on the league table with 32 points.
