The Young Scorpions started training and evaluation sessions on Monday 1st July 2024 with 26 players from The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One League.
The Gambia U-20 team engaged in tactical drills, which were then applied in a full-match display to simulate real game situations.
The second phase of the Young Scorpions training and evaluation sessions will feature players from the Second Division League and players plying their trades in the Senegalese Leagues.
It could be recalled that The Gambia U-20 team finished as runners-up in the 2022 WAFU Zone A U-20 football tournament after losing to Senegal U-20 team 1-0 in a tightly-contested final played in Mauritania.
