Jarra West FC relegation fight continues

Jarra West Football Club have continued their fight to avoid relegation in the ongoing Gambian Second Division League following their latest draw against Wagadu FC on Wednesday.

Wagadu FC were held to a 1-1 draw at home against struggling Jarra West during their week 28 fixture played at the Serrekunda East Mini-Stadium on Wednesday.

Following a barren goalless draw in the first half, the relegation-threatening side Jarra West, took the lead through substitute Essa Ceesay in the 47 minutes of the second half, while Yaya Sonko equalised for Wagadu FC with a thumping header in the 49 minutes of the game, forcing the match to one apiece.

The Pythons, Wagadu FC are now forced to their 11th draw of the season, while the struggling Jarra West side, now conceded their 16th draw of the league.

The Upper River Region-based team Wagadu overall recorded their eight triumphs, 11 draws and nine losses in 28 matches, while the Lower River Region-based team, Jarra West overall collected two wins, 16 draws and 11 defeats in 28 games.

The draw sent Wagadu FC to 9th position with 35 points, leveling with Madina FC, while Jarra West maintained the rock bottom (18th) position with 22 points.
