Jarra East to represent LRR in President Barrow Peace Tourney

Jarra East District Football Team will represent Lower River Region (LRR) in the upcoming President Adama Barrow National Peace Tournament.

The Jaara East District boys hammered Kiang East District Football Team 4-1 in a final played at the Soma Mini Stadium to represent Lower River Region (LRR) in the President Barrow national peace football championship.

Jarra East were ambition to beat Kiang East in order to represent Lower River Region in the President Adama Barrow national peace football tournament.

The Jarra East boys dominated the match and crafted numerous goal scoring opportunities.

Cherno Jawo gave Jarra East the lead in the 13th minute of the match, before Omar Fatty extended their lead immediately after the interval.

Skipper Cherno Jawo netted the third goal for Jarra East six minutes after the interval from the penalty spot to complete his brace.

Yaya Sanneh pulled out goal for Kiang East from the penalty spot, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

Substitute Yerro Juma Jallow scored the fourth goal for Jarra East midway into the match thus the match ended 4-1 in favour of Jarra East.

As winners, Jarra East went home with a trophy and a prize of D100, 000 while Kiang East received D75, 000 as runners-up.

Head of President Adama Barrow Peace Football Tournament Organising Committee, Hon. Saikou Mballow, described the championship as a way of strengthening unity among Gambians.

Hon. Member for Jarra East Constituency, Haruna Barry, applauded Jarra East District Team for winning the Lower River Region (LRR) Peace Tournament trophy.
