Gifanga lift Foni Girls maiden ‘nawettan’ tourney

Gifanga on Sunday 27th July 2025 lifted the maiden edition of Foni Girls female Nawettan trophy.

The Gifanga Girls thumped Bajagarr 2-0 in a final played at the School Football Field.
Gifanga dominated the match and created chances but failed to capitalise on them thus the first half ended goalless.
Siyabatou Gibba missed a golden chance for Gifanga in the 52nd minute of the match but her effort went some inches over the bar.
Jainaba Gibba opened the Scores for Gifanga in the 69th minute after capitalising on Bajagarr custodian's blunder.
Agness Manga extended Gifanga's lead in the 73rd minute of the match from a freekick thus the match ended 2-0 in favour of Gifanga.

As champions, Gifanga went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D2,000 while Bajagarr recieved D1,500 as runners-up.
The final was witnessed by Women's Football Coordinator of The Gambia Football Federation Philomena Jatta and her assistant Angelic Mendy.

The kick-off was taken by Coach Choro Mbenga.
The final was graced Alieu Wenga promoter of Women's Football.
Head Coach of Gifanga Hawa Jarju recieived the best coach award, while Nyimanding Bojang of Bunyadou FC received youngest player award.

 Adama Jobe of Gifanga received best defender award, while Ndey Gibba of Gifanga received the best goalkeeper award.

Arabiatou Gibba of Jakoi received the best player award.
