The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has wrapped up a three-day FIFA Connect and Club Licensing Training at the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) as part of preparations for digitalising player registration starting the 2024/25 season.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, GFF President Mr Lamin Kaba Bajo emphasised the importance of clubs making best use of the opportunity while assuring them of the GFF's unflinching support in implementing the program.

He said Gambian clubs are losing a lot of revenue on player transfer because of the lack of registering players on the FIFA Connect.

President Bajo added that the GFF is aware of the constraints and will do everything possible to support them.

GFF second vice president, Mr. Ebou Faye described the training as fruitful, while making emphasis on moving to the next level.

"It was a good two days, and the resource persons have done a very good job.

The training helps the clubs in moving to the next level.

The financial benefits attached are numerous as through the FIFA Connect clubs will maximise their benefits on player sales," he asserted.

General Secretary Mr Lamin M Jassey also echoed similar sentiments, saying his office will be available if clubs need their assistance. "We all have to accept the fact that we to move to another level," he said. Source GFF
