The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Friday signed a four-year partnership contract with Baluwo, for the GFF Male First Division League.

The financial institution credited for it renowned services will be helping the Male First Division League during the period 2022/2023 to 2025/2026 football seasons.

Following the signing of the MoU, GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo expressed delight with the partnership.

“We are very much happy that we are able to secure this deal with Baluwo. This is just the beginning as it will be for the next four years,” said President Bajo.

Joseph Arroyo, Baluwo Chief Executive Officer (CEO), expressed hope that the partnership would encourage footballers to play better football.

“Football is one of the ways that will also help Baluwo to stay connected with their families. So we are very happy to sponsor the GFF trophy. We encourage footballers to play better football so as to offer more opportunities,” he said.

Baluwo is an e-commerce platform targeted at the West African diaspora living in Europe and North America which enables them to purchase products or services for their families back home and therefore gives them better control of the funds they usually send.

The Baluwo users can buy food and construction materials as well as mobile phone and electricity top-ups for their families in a very simple and intuitive way.
