GFF prexy receives Dr. Muhammed Lamin Touray

The President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Lamin Kaba Bajo on Tuesday 9th July 2024 received Dr. Muhammed Lamin Touray, a native of Bakau who came to present his certificates of FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine and FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Essentials.

At a brief presentation held at Football House in Kanifing, Mr Bajo congratulated Dr Touray for his hard work and dedication that enable him achieved such accolades.

"Capacity building is very key for me and as a federation that is growing, we need people with capacity and knowledge to steer the services of football because FIFA and CAF are very much concerned about Safeguarding", Mr Bajo noted.

Bajo encouraged Dr. Touray and noted that this could be the start of a long time relationship.

He said the GFF Safeguarding Officer Muhammed Sinera will henceforth work with Dr. Touray to facilitate some key elements of Safeguarding in football.

He assured him of football House's collaboration while encouraging the young people in football to pursue their dreams in football management.

Dr. Muhammed Lamin Touray has successfully completed the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine and also earned a certificate of the FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Essentials online course.

Dr .Touray is a team Doctor at 6 and 1 Football club in Bakau.

He currently works as a Medical Doctor at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul.

Dr. Touray bagged a Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of The Gambia in 2023 and is currently pursuing Health literacy leadership program at the West African Institute of Public Health (WAIPH).
