The initial disciplinary action, a three-year suspension, was imposed by the GFF Organising Committee due to the players' and officials’ refusal to participate in scheduled national league matches.
Despite numerous directives from the Club’s management, a thorough investigation was conducted to understand the reasons behind the boycott.
After carefully reviewing all reports and submissions, the Appeals Committee found that certain players and members of the technical staff did not follow internal decisions made by the club’s management.
This included not respecting the management's choice to dismiss Head Coach Peter N. Mendy and Assistant Coach Abdou Jallow.
The Committee noted that the subsequent boycott of the National League matches was regrettable and unacceptable. This behaviour disrupted the competition and unfairly impacted both the Club and the League.
Based on these findings, the Appeals Committee has decided to modify the Organising Committee's decision with the following resolutions:
Players' Suspension
The original three-year suspension from all GFF activities has been reduced to one year, covering the 2025/26 football season.
Head and Assistant Coaches
The decision regarding Head Coach Mr. Peter N. Mendy and Assistant Coach Mr. Abdou Jallow will remain unchanged, with both serving a three-year suspension.
Remaining Technical Staff
The other members of the technical staff will be suspended for one year, covering the 2025/26 football season.
The GFF is dedicated to the advancement of women's football in The Gambia and stresses the importance of discipline and adherence to the rules of the game.
