DStv Premiership outfit, Cape Town City has secured the signing of Gambian winger Kajally Drammeh from local club Real De Banjul.

A club record transfer fee which has not been disclosed was reportedly spent to lure the skillful youngster to the South African club, beating a host of European clubs in the race to secure the service of the club’s new signing. Drammeh reportedly signed a 3-year-contract and has since been assigned to number 7 jersey at his new club. The signing is expected to see the former Real De Banjul starlet remain a City player until 2026.

According to the club website, City have already signed Cameroonian midfielders Brice Ambina and Mogamat Maye as well as Venezuelan winger Darwin Gonzalez in ambitious efforts to strengthen the Citizens side as they chase Nedbank Cup in which they will play against Royal AM in the Round of 32.

The 18-year-old Drammeh was an instrumental member of The Gambia National junior team that won the Wafu Zone A U-20 tournament held in Senegal in 2020, and ensuring that the team had a place in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations U-20 tournament in Mauritania.
