A key player for the Gambia at the previous FIFA U-20 World Cup, Bojang joined Grasshoppers on loan from French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims. After initial struggles to adapt, the prolific former Steve Biko attacker is now hitting his stride in the Swiss Super League.
"Adama has been working incredibly hard to adapt to our playing style, and it's fantastic to see him being rewarded with two brilliant goals,” says Grasshoppers' coach, Andreas Hönig. "His speed, skill, and determination make him a valuable asset to our team.”
Bojang's remarkable display sparked widespread jubilation among Gambian fans, who took to social media to express their admiration for the talented striker. As Grasshoppers battles to avoid relegation, Bojang will be looking to build on this momentum and help his team climb the Swiss Super League table.
With only 23 points from 25 matches, Grasshoppers currently sits second from bottom in the 12-team league. However, with Bojang's newfound form and determination, the team's fortunes may be about to change.
"I'm thrilled to have scored two goals and helped my team earn a point," Bojang said in a post-match interview. "We're facing a tough challenge to avoid relegation, but I'm confident that with our collective effort, we can turn things around and achieve our goals.”
Bojang was a key member of the Gambia U-20 team that made history by finishing as runners-up at the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
