3rd year students’ team win UTG School of Arts and Science sports day contest

Third year students’ team have won University of The Gambia Arts and Science sports day athletic competition.

The UTG Arts and Science sports day was held at the Saint Peter’s Football Field in Lamin on Saturday.

The sports day brought together sports enthusiasts and students.

The sports day featured various sports activities such as experienced sprinters and sprinters.

They showcased their skills during the sports day.

The guest speaker of the sports day, Ebrima Jatta, from Olympic Committee, delved into the essence of sports and deliberated on the introduction of a sport called Teqball, a very interesting game.

The winners of the various competitions include Adama Colley (year one), who won musical chair for the female category.  

Ernest BM Mendy won musical chair for the male category, while Echan Obega (one year) won the 800metre sprinting.

Abdoulie Nyassi (year three) won 100meters male category, while Isatou Danso (year three) won 100 meters.

Aminata Ceesay (year three) won lemon spoon race.

Abdoulie Sanneh (year four) won sack race for male category, while Aboulie Nyassi won 200meters race.

Sanneh also won 100meters race.

Other competitions were witnessed during the annual sports day with winners from various schools.

The three year team emerged as the overall winners of this year’s UTG Arts and Science sports day competition after their stunning performance during the events.
