Gambia Women's national team resume training ahead of Kenya clash

The Gambia Women’s national team yesterday resumed training at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum ahead of their crucial Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifier match against Kenya in October 2025.

Head coach Mariama Bom Sowe assembled her troops and advised them to take the training seriously, while adhering to all the tactics.

Coach Sowe stated that the qualifiers are very important for the team.

She urged the Queens to remain focused on the task ahead.

Coach Sowe is aiming to guide the team to its first ever AWCON qualification at the expense of the Kenyans.

The Gambia  Women's national team secured a convincing 4-1 aggregate victory over Niger in the previous round of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers.
