Gambia set for training camps in Saudi Arabia, Morocco

The Gambia senior national team is set for their international training camps in Saudi Arabia and Morocco, according to news reaching The Point Sports Desk.

The Scorpions will begin their international training camps on 27th December 2023.

Coach Saintfiet and his charges will use their international training camps to improve on their weaknesses ahead of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Ivory Coast.

Coach Tom Saintfiet has announced a strong 43-man provisional squad prior to their international training camps in Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

The international training camps will give Coach Saintfiet the chance to reinforce his team before the commencement of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

The Gambia reached the quarter-finals of the 2021 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations but lost to Cameroon 2-0 in their last eight clash.

Meanwhile, The Gambia defeated Mauritania 1-0 in their opening group match of the 2021 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations before drawing 1-1 with Mali in their second group match.

The Scorpions beat Tunisia 1-0 in their third and final group match to finish second-place in their group with 7 points after three group matches.

The Gambia defeated Guinea Conakry 1-0 in their round of sixteen match of the continent’s bi-annual biggest football showpiece.
