Gambia name athletics team for Commonwealth Youth Games

The Gambia Athletics Association (GAA) and the Gambia Volleyball Federation GVBF) on Monday named the final list of athletes (Team Gambia) to participate in the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Gambian team comprises both a strong volleyball and athletics team.

The Gambia five-man athletes’ team comprises Isatou Sey, Mariama Camara, Christopher Renner, Musa Drammeh and Sainabou Colley.

The volleyball team comprises Sanusi Jawara and Babucarr B.O Janneh (players) who will be coached by Pa Sanu Secka.

The Gambia youth beach volleyball team is paired in Pool C against New Zealand and ST Lucia.

The Commonwealth Youth Games which is this time going to be held in the Caribbean country, is a preparatory ground for member countries to display, recruit and form sports teams for the Commonwealth Games.

The upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago will be held from 4-11 August 2023.
