The purpose of the tournament, according to the committee, is to remember a fallen hero, legend and a former journalist who contributed massively in promoting sports and football in particular in Upper Nuimi.
Veteran FIFA referee Jallow started his career in The Gambia and is currently plying his trade in the United States Major League Soccer (MLS) as a senior referee assistance.
The tournament attracted eight teams: Masoseh FC of Kerr Mama, German Boys of Fass Saho, Ya Sally FC of Pakau Saloum, Unity FC of Bakalarr, Sami Kuta FC, Kahel FC, Mamuda FC and Sami Tenda FC.
