The Gambia senior national team on Saturday defeated Seychelles 5-1 in their third Group F qualifier match played at the Berkane Municipal Stadium in Morocco to maintain their 2026 World Cup qualification aspirations.

The Scorpions were winless in their opening qualifier matches before rubbing shoulders with Seychelles, who were also winless in their two opening qualifier outings.

The Gambia and Seychelles were both anxious to grip the maximum points to bolster their hopes of qualifying for their first-ever global biggest football showpiece.

Adama Sidibeh, Musa Barrow and Yankuba Minteh all registered their names on the score sheet for the Scorpions during the match.

The Gambia still sit second-place from bottom in Group F of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with 3 points despite hammering Seychelles.

Seychelles occupy bottom-place in Group F of the global biggest football fiesta qualifiers without a point after losing their three opening qualifier match.
