Football enthusiasts mourn demise of Binta Jallow

Football fans in The Gambia have learnt with regret, the death of footballer Binta Jallow who played for Police Football Club in the Women’s League Division One.

Binta was part of the 41 young Gambian that embarked on the hostile journey to Europe in search of a greener pasture.

Assistant Women’s Football Coordinator at The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Veronic Aisha Malack, stated that Binta’s death is huge loss to women’s football.

Malack extended special condolences to The Gambia Police Women’s football team, friends and Binta’s family.

‘‘I pray for her beautiful soul to rest in peace,’’ Malack said.

A former player of The Gambia Police Force, Mbassey Darboe, revealed that she was really sad about Binta’s death.

She prayed for almighty Allah to grant Binta Jallow ‘Jannah’ and all departed souls.

Head coach of The Gambia Police Force, Mariama Bom Sowe, stated that the death of Binta Jallow came to her as a shock and the entire Gambia Police Force.

‘‘I feel very sad after receiving the death of Binta Jallow,’’Coach Bom Sowe said.

Coach Sowe described the late Binta as kind and friendly.

‘‘It’s a big loss for the team because she was part of team,’’ Coach Sowe pointed out.

The President of the GFF, Lamin Kaba Bajo, extended his condolences to the family of late Binta Jallow.

The Gambia Women’s Football fans TV, also extended their deepest condolences to the entire Police Ladies FC on the passing of player Binta Jallow.

‘‘Our prayers are with the late Binta’s family during this difficult time,’’ Gambia Women’s Football Fan Club said.
