The football fields, who used to host league matches in The Gambia, are cuurently hosting 'nawettan' matches.
Late Ousman Saho Football Field at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum, Live Your Dreams Sports Academy in Basori and Hawks Football Field in Kabakel are the only football grounds available to host league matches at the moment.
Head Coach of Gunjur United, Bubacarr Kakai Bojang, revealed that the delay of the country's new league campaign hampered his side's preparations.
Bojang further revealed that the teams cannot stop training despite the delay of the new league season, adding that the teams are currently spending huge amount of money on fares.
He stated that the clubs lack financial muscles to construct their own stadium.
Bojang urged the GFF to support league clubs to improve the status of their football fields to host league matches.
He stated that the GFF should improve footbll fields to avoid delay of the league.
"Without improving the status of football fields in the country is going to be very difficult for football to develop Gambian," Coach Bojang said.
Bojang pointed out that the GFF should work hand in glove with league clubs to improve the status of their football fields to host league matches.
Head Coach of TMT female team, Muhammed Sanyang, revealed that people should not blame the GFF for the delay of the country's new league season.
The gaffer further revealed that some clubs have been existing in The Gambia for many years but are still yet to get their own football fields to play their league matches.
Meanwhile, Real de Banjul, Hawks, Gambian Dutch Lions and Fortune FC are set to play their home league matches at their own football fields.
The rest of the First and Second Division League clubs are yet to get their own football grounds to play their home league matches.
