The event was held at the Seaview Gardens in Senegambia on Saturday evening.
"I'm pleased with the performance of the Scorpions during the World Cup qualifiers. Thought many people were shocked because we didn't qualify for the 2026 World Cup," Gaffer Mckinstry noted.
Coach Mckinstry pointed out that the Scorpions were not involved in the last World Cup qualifiers because they were eliminated in the preliminary qualifiers.
He further pointed out that the Scorpions performanced well in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, noting that The Gambia finished third-place in Group F with 13 points after 10 group matches.
"Playing against a team like Seychelles, you can play without a lot of stress," Coach Mckinstry explained.
Coach Mckinstry noted that Gambia have not scored a lot of goals against smaller nations. He revealed that the matches against Chad and Sao Tome in the past were close matches and immediately put five goals in that match.
Coach Mckinstry added that the players were surprised about the team selection he made for those matches.
"I'm sure everyone in this room was surprised with the team selection I made when we played in Franceville. We went into that game and started to know each other," Coach Mckinstry explained.
Gaffer Mckinstry stated that he sent a message to the players, GFF, media and supporters.
