Head coach of Serrekunda FC, Tapha Manneh, has praised his players for their improved performance in the 2023-2024 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League season.

Coach Manneh was speaking to journalists shortly after his side’s 2-0 victory over Immigration in their week-15 fixture played at the King George 5 Mini-Stadium in Banjul on Wednesday.

Ebrima Badjie opened the scoring for Serrekunda FC in the stoppage time of the first half, before Ebrima Camara extended their lead in the 65th minute.

“I am very happy with the improved performance of my players.

‘‘The performance of my team was good and we played very well,’’ coach Manneh said.

Coach Manneh praised his team for their defending ability and build up as well.

He stated that the only problem they have now is to work on his players’ confidence.

‘‘I now feel happy with the improvement of my team,” he added.

“Most people expect me to improve Serrekunda FC looking at my level of coaching and experience.”

‘‘My tactics and philosophy seem to be working very well for the team,’’ coach Manneh pointed out.

Coach Manneh revealed that they still have more to do to improve their position on the league table, adding that their target is to be in the top five of the league.

Meanwhile, the win earns Serrekunda FC 11th position on the league table with 17 points, while Immigration sit second-place from bottom position on the league table with 12 points, leveling with Jam City.
