
Fakebba Saine’s side wrapped up their season with a 2-0 victory over Red Scorpions FC in their FF Cup final played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium over the weekend.
The victory earns Berewuleng FC their second trophy this season.
Ellen Gomez opened the scores for Berewuleng FC in the 71st minute of the match after capitalising on Kaddijatou M. Drammeh’s stunning free-kick.
Ma Fanta Drammeh scored the second goal for Berewuleng FC in the 81st minute of the match from a towering header to send the Brikama based-team fans into jubilation.
As champions, Berewuleng were awarded a giant trophy, gold medals and a cheque amounting to D250,000 while Red Scorpions received sliver medals and a cheque amounting to D150,000 as runners-up.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the final whistle, head coach of Berewuleng FC, Fakebba Saine, stated that the victory meant a lot him and his team.
Saine further stated that since the formation of the team this was what they were fighting for and was their main aim and objective.
Head Coach of Red Scorpions, Choro Mbenga, congratulated Berewuleng FC for winning a double this season.
“Both goals were defensive errors. We are going back to the drawing board and work hard for next season,’’ Mbenga said.
