
Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s philosophy of leadership and resilience, she is determined to become a global influence and create meaningful change in the lives of people, particularly in The Gambia.
Her ambition is to serve as an ambassador of hope aligning her projects with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to promote equity, justice and social progress.
Despite facing financial constraints and limited support Nyima has carved her own path in the pageantry world. Since embarking on her journey in 2015 she has participated in several prestigious competitions winning multiple titles including Miss Red Cross KM, Miss Photogenic, Miss Nawetan Lamin Winner, Miss Glam Gambia 2020 Winner and People’s Choice, Miss Africa Golden Heritage 2022, and Miss Magnificent Woman Icon 2025. Although selected to represent The Gambia in international pageants, financial limitations prevented her from participating but as the current Miss MWI International Queen, she now holds a global platform opening doors for greater opportunities in pageantry and community development.
Nyima is in the process of launching the Melanin Queen Foundation an initiative dedicated to fostering teamwork in addressing societal challenges and supporting community-driven projects that empower women, children and underprivileged groups.
As a Legal Secretary and member of the Pro Bono Initiative she is working to establish a justice system that provides free legal assistance to individuals who cannot afford legal representation. She is also a member of the Accountability Project Gambia actively engaged in ensuring that victims of injustice receive proper legal support, and transitional justice mechanisms are upheld.
Nyima is a maternal and child health advocate striving to improve healthcare accessibility and safety for mothers and infants. Her efforts focus on reducing maternal and child morbidity and mortality rates ensuring better healthcare services for vulnerable communities. She has partnered with Bundung Maternal Hospital to provide essential sanitary products for women and raise awareness about maternal health making primary healthcare more accessible to women and children.
She is actively seeking partnerships with health professionals, civil society organizations, NGOs, government agencies and stakeholders to scale her advocacy efforts. With the right support, she hopes to expand her projects and continue making a lasting impact on society. Her journey is a testament to determination, resilience and a commitment to positive change.
