TRIBUTE TO BADARA.

 I was then the acting project manager at the Gambia OIC secretariat.The initial buffer for bertil harding was 40meters either side of the road from the center.The project team visited state House to brief the cabinet,the president was in attendance and more than half of the ministers.All the ministers spoke and defended the 30 meters instead of the 40 meters.Because according to them,40 meters will affect lot of properties and we are close to presidential elections.Badara then was the minister of Higher Education and this is what he said "Mr president we have to go for 40 meters instead of 30 meters.We are planning for the future generation, we are sitting here less than 50 people but mandated to steer the affairs of over 2 million people.. Mr president we have less than 0.1 % of the population living around that road corridor,and how can that number make you loose election.We cannot sit here and retard development because of politics and thus I differ with my colleagues.Lets put aside politics and restore the 40 meters buffer for the convenience of the future generation that is what we are here for".REST IN PEACE BADARA,you are a truthful person.I am a living witness...Hon.
