The award ceremony was held at a night reception dinner organised by BST. Three motorbikes and dozens of mobile phones were awarded to other staff.
The event, the 2nd annual staff award dinner, organized by BST in recognition of the tireless efforts by the staff.
Touray Kunda Enterprise Company, was established and is owned by a Young Gambian Business Entrepreneur Mr. Burama Saikou Touray.
The Touray Kunda Enterprise Company started operations in 2006, with the aim to complement the government’s efforts in the area of youth unemployment.
Touray Kunda Enterprise company focuses purposely on general building, plumbing and sale of electrical materials among other construction needs.
Touray Kunda Enterprise Company also partners with (IFAN), a business company based in China. Touray Kunda Enterprise has employed a lot of Gambian youths and is engaged in selling compression fittings and clamp saddles PP, Brass Ball Valves, Brass Tap, Pipe tools and other accessories like angel valves, flexible hose, floor drain, iron pipe clip and shower set.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Kebba Touray, a step -father to Burama Saikou Touray (BST), praised him for his commitment, dedication towards establishing this company. He acknowledged BST’s efforts to support Gambian youths to engage in productivity work.
He also commended Touray Kunda Enterprise staff for their cooperation and support provided to the proprietor BST to ensure the success of his business.
Giving a word of advice, Modou Sowe, an adviser, who doubles as the secretary general of Clearing and Forwarding Agents, commended BST for organising this event, stating that it shows the love that BST has for his staff.
Mr. Sowe advised the staff to show more commitment to the company to ensure that Touray Kunda Enterprise grows to a bigger level.
“We need to promote and patronise our own brothers’ companies,” Mr. Sowe stated.
Speaker after Speaker all praised BST for treating his staff equally and for the ambitions he has for them.
All the staff praised BST for organising this event, saying that not every company owner can do this kind of event.
