The annual tradition was attended in numbers by new graduates and undergraduate programme aspirants, as well as senior dons and staff of the university.
Dr. Momodou Lamin Tarro, in his welcoming remarks said the main objective of the orientation ceremony was to apprise students with the fundamental principles, norms and culture of UTG.
“These core values have projected the image of this institution as a centre of learning and character moulding of our students,” he added.
Whilst congratulating the higher education aspirants, Vice-Chancellor Herbert Robinson opined that a university takes pride in producing honest, knowledgeable, skillful, productive and patriotic citizens.
“We, therefore, implore on you to be ready and willing to work with us as we prepare you for national development and to be global citizens,” added the Vice Chancellor.
The other academics and professors of the public higher education university took turns to also share experiences and give pieces of advice to the students.
