Martin Juststra, Chairman of Stitching Voor-Holland expressed delight at having his team in The Gambia to offer support to Riders For Health.
According to him, they also donated medical equipment to Kanifing General Hospital.
Therese Drammeh, Country Director of Riders For Health expressed gratitude to Stitching Voor- Holland for supporting them with the ambulances that she described as very vital to health service delivery.
“The ambulances came with quality spare parts and are almost brand new,” she stated.
Osman Yaboe, Chairman of Riders For Health said the ambulances and First Aid equipment will serve them for many years as well as save lives in rural communities.
“The ambulances will go to rural communities were access to health care or main referral hospitals is very difficult,” he stated.
He assured donors that the ambulances would be delivered to communities that requested for them as well as support in maintaining them.
Lamin Bah, Chairman of Stitching Voor-Holland in The Gambia explained that the foundation was established in The Gambia in 2008 and built their first health centre in Niamina in 2010. The health centre was opened in 2012. Two other health centers were built in Nyiniba and Jawo Kunda by the foundation and are still functional.
“We are also helping women in Jawo Kunda with their garden and are also building schools in this country,” he said.
