
A World Bank funded joint project with the Gambia government, the Nafa Cash Transfer seeks to offer a foundation for sustainable livelihoods to the poor and vulnerable.
It is being implemented by NaNA alongside the Department of Community Development and the Dirocterate of Community Development.
He stated; “Taking early childhood care is not only limited to females, but males should also support in taking care of these children.”
In light of this, he acknowledged the role of fathers in supporting mothers in the smooth upbringing of their child, saying it doesn’t just strengthen the bond between the parents and child, but also deepens love and care and further builds confidence in the child.
He disclosed that beneficiaries are always lectured on early child development to encourage them on how to take care of their children especially those between zero to eight years.
Elsewhere, the cash transfer teams further reached out to other vulnerable beneficiaries of the project in Changally Lankandi and other communities, where beneficiaries testified how the project has impacted their lives.
