Senegal’s ‘Team Baabel’ set to blaze The Gambia with star-studded line up

The stage is set ahead of the grand performance in The Gambia by one of Senegal’s drama sensations, ‘Team Baabel’ next month.

Renowned for their sensational drama serries, ‘Team Baabel’ continues to amass growing fan base, with their heartwarming blend of comedy, tradition, and real-life lessons.

While the red-carpet date and venue are yet to be confirmed, excitement is already mounting as fans eagerly await the chance to meet their favourite stars in person.

The much-loved drama series ‘Baabel’ has captured the hearts of many across Senegal and The Gambia with its powerful storytelling rooted in African culture.

The show, which fuses humor, family values, and social lessons, portrays the essence of community life, respect for elders, cultural pride, and the beauty of living harmoniously in extended families.

Through its episodes, ‘Baabel’ has become more than just entertainment, it’s a celebration of African identity and shared heritage.

In an interview with The Point, Sulyman Sowe, team manager, said the upcoming performance is designed to strengthen cultural ties between Gambians and Senegalese.

“Both nations share similar traditions and ways of life. After the final episode of our recent season, we wanted to do something special for our Gambian audience, something that brings fans closer to the actors they’ve loved watching on screen,” he explained.

This live performance, according to him, will feature photo sessions, fan interactions, and surprises that promise to create lasting memories.

Foday Sarr, popularly known as Bakirr Cham in the series, reflected on the incredible support the show has received from Gambians at home and abroad.

“From the very first episode to the last, Gambians have shown us so much love. Their feedback keeps us going,” he said.

“We’re planning a show that will not only make people laugh but also teach, inspire, and unite. Expect both Gambian and Senegalese comedians to share one stage for a night of pure magic.”

Sharing her excitement, actress Yakahara Njie, known to fans as Oumie Cham, said returning to The Gambia feels like coming home.

“I love this country and its people. We can’t wait to roll out the red carpet for our fans this December,” she expressed, urging Gambians to come out in large numbers to support the performance.

Actor Omar Cham also joined in the gratitude, revealing that a majority of their YouTube followers are Gambians.

“We’ve seen the love online. It’s time to say thank you in person. So, Gambians, mark your calendars, because December will be a month to remember!”

Meanwhile, as anticipation builds up -‘Team Baabel’s upcoming live show promises not only entertainment, but also a cultural bridge where laughter meets learning, and tradition meets modern African storytelling.
