With sanitation being an orphaned sub-sector for a very long period, the development of a roadmap will enable stakeholders to pay critical attention to achieving universal access to safe sanitation by 2030.
Lamin Fadera, programme manager of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) unit within the Ministry of Health, underscored the importance of collective action in tackling sanitation challenges, highlighting that access to clean water and proper sanitation is fundamental to human dignity.
Solo Sima, deputy director general of PURA, emphasised the significance of the validation in addressing sanitation issues in the country effectively. He urged the stakeholders in attendance to remain focused and committed as well as promote proactive collaborations in their efforts towards fostering a healthier and cleaner future for all.
