
The items donated include: Seven bags of 50kg rice, 1 bag of 50kg Sugar, 1 bag of Onion, 20 Lt Gallon of Oil, 1 packet of Omo and cash amount of D10,000; all totaling D30,000
The presentation was preceded with the recitation of the Holy Quran by elders of the community for God Almighty to have mercy and grant the deceased highest abode in Jannah.
At the solemn ceremony, speaker-after-speaker extended condolence to the bereaved family, describing the gruesome murder as ‘despicable.’
At the event, Hamadi Sowe, imam of Sare Omar, commended members of NALOA for the benevolent gesture, which he described as ‘timely.’
He reminded that supporting one in times of need is important as Islam also promotes the culture of sharing and caring.
He praised NaLOA for the active stance it champions in promoting the welfare of herders in the country.
In light of this, he called on members to continue this worthy cause, further thanking Jallow for spearheading unity and togetherness among members of the association.
Ansumana Kanagi, Chief of Jarra East, while expressing support for the association, equally thanked them for their foresight and benevolence.
He said he was not at all surprised by the move of the association and thanked its president Ebrima O Jallow for the gesture.
Chief Kanagie also challenged them to intensify their efforts bearing in mind that nation building is always a challenge and one that requires the commitment of all.
Ebrima O. Jallow, president of NaLOA, accompanied by some members of the association presented the items, and expressed dismay over the unfortunate incident.
He said the visit to the area was also to meet and show solidarity with the deceased family, further commending the people of Sare Omar for the patience displayed especially during the time of the incident.
He assured that NALOA will continue to promote peace and unity between the herdsmen and the farmers in the country.
He equally expressed his association’s resolve to work closely with security personnel and the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure that such conflict is averted.
