In an exclusive interview with The Point, Professor Pierre Gomez, disclosed that the FOCAC Summit, is slated to take place in Beijing from the 4th to 6th September.
The event, Minister Gomez revealed, will accord him the opportunity to meet and interact with other ministerial counterparts from the African continent.
He equally noted that on the sidelines of this FOCAC summit, there will be one on education, saying his mission at this forum is to promote cooperations and the TVET agenda.
He described this upcoming forum as a game-changer for the Gambia government, as the government of the People’s Republic of China is ready to give the country that support.
“The Gambia’s contribution on the forum on education will be specifically on TVET, as we will focus on TVET infrastructure and development of TVET education in the Gambia. We will also work with other stakeholders over there to see how to promote education and getting more scholarships for the youths of the Gambia.”
He added; “We want to follow the People’s Republic of China on this path and we have no doubt that it will be a prosperous and worthwhile journey.”
