Gambias Venner, Danish Gambian Friendship Society donate rice to TDA women vendors & hotel workers

Gambias Venner, a Danish non- profit organization has donated 104 bags of rice to women vendors at the Tourism Development Area (TDA) and hotel workers  through its sister organization in The Gambia, the Danish Gambian Friendship Society.

Kanimang Camara, interim vice chairman of Danish Gambian Friendship Society said they will continue to support people in need during the course of the state of public health emergency due to coronavirus.

Administrator, Ousman Dampha said since the establishment of the charity, it has supported in the areas of education through the provision of relief aid, sponsorships to needy students, provision of medical equipment to hospitals and health centers nation-wide as well in the agriculture sector.

Gambia chapter chairman Prof. Dr. Lamin Sidibeh expressed gratitude to their sister society in Denmark for thinking about the Gambia during this trying time of the coronavirus pandemic.

National President of the women vendors in the TDA, Ndey Kebbeh praised the initiative and the timeliness of the support, saying that the impact of the closure of hotels and tourism activities has brought negative effects on their lives.
