Sanyang, who was speaking recently during the launching of the said plan at the Bakadaji Hotel in Kololi, urged local partners in the country and international partners to give much-needed support to the NSFM plan.
The National Substandard and Falsified Medicines Plan (NSFM Plan), he explained, would ensure access to quality, safe, and efficacious medicines for the people of The Gambia, adding: “Moreover, it would provide the road map for different activities that will ensure prevention, timely detection and rapid response for any substandard and falsified medicine,” he claimed.
“The plan applies to all the individuals or organizations/ companies involved in the import, export, storage, distribution, and sale of medicines in general. It is also applicable to the public and health care providers of the country,” Dr. Sanyang emphasised.
“I wish to call upon all local and international partners and stakeholders to support the full implementation of this plan to mitigate the public health risk posed by SF products.”
