The Minister of Lands, Regional Governments, Religious and NGO Affairs has called on landlords to always pay their taxes and on time, saying timely payment of tax enables government with revenue to initiate development projects.

Abba Sanyang maintained that they want to ensure that government maximises revenue from its main natural resources which is land.

The maximal use of this land, he observed, is what they are yawning for, saying the taxes that are supposed to be collected on this land should be maximal.

“If taxes are paid, this will enable the country to make an absolute turnaround, so we will realize that our land revenue should be capable of helping all other institutions to grow their potentials maximally.” he stated.

Minister Sanyang thus advised people that ‘if taxes are being paid, it will also help support the education system, road constructions, health system and agricultural system among other systems to be fully fledged and operational.

Similarly, Lands Minister raised concern with the alarming rate and effects of uncontrolled bush fire, saying the latter is a concern highlighted during one of his tours, where he called on communities to be always in the forefront in protecting and safeguarding their environment against the menace.

“We have been talking to people to control the environment particularly bush fire and how to maintain our environmental growth. This will enable us to have more resilience towards the global warming we are all scared off.”
