The Laidlaw Foundation and IE Business School, thanks to the support of the IE Foundation, have joined forces in a joint commitment to advance the education and advancement of extraordinary women committed to ethical leadership and global impact.
IE University (www.ie.edu) is an international university that teaches in English based in Madrid (Spain, Europe). Its business school (IE BUSINESS SCHOOL) is considered one of the best in the world (Top 20) and in Europe (Top 10) in rankings such as the Financial Times.
With the intention of fostering a new generation of women leaders, the Laidlaw Women's Leadership Fund will support the education of up to 24 women each year over a 3-year period.
The IE Laidlaw Scholars will be able to pursue an MBA or Executive MBA program at IE Business School, and will participate in networking activities, mentoring and events that will enrich their leadership profile.
The scholarships cover between 50% and 100% of the tuition fees depending on the needs of the candidates and are especially focused on professional women from developing or emerging countries, with a high level of English and strong social commitment. Regions as West Africa and The Gambia are an important focus for the initiative.
IE Foundation prides itself on empowering women who inspire, drive change and create a positive impact on the IE community and society at large. “IE University is honored to collaborate with Laidlaw Foundation to support women leaders and provide opportunities for outstanding candidates who come from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds,” Gonzalo Garland, Executive Vice President, IE Foundation, states.
Laidlaw Foundation CEO Susanna Kempe, for her part, stated: “We are committed to boosting the presence of women in senior management. With this scholarship program with IE Business School, our goal is to accelerate the careers of extraordinary women into leadership positions.”
